Product has odor

The product appearance was fine, this was a slate black Epicurean cutting board. However, we washed before using, in the dishwasher. It had a strong odor at least partially like wet particle board, could smell it throughout the house when the dishwasher was opened. We never actually used this product for cooking but plan to return it. It stank. I have quite a number of other Epicurean cutting boards and am happy with them. Don't know what was wrong that this one stinks.
